MAQUOKETA — Muriel M. Carr, 67, of Maquoketa, died on Saturday Oct. 29, 2005, at the Jackson County Public Hospital in Maquoketa.

There will be a celebration of her life at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Carson and Son Funeral and Cremation Services, Maquoketa, with the Rev. Marlin Whitmer, pastor of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Maquoketa, officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Hickory Grove Cemetery, rural Maquoketa.

She was born March 15, 1938, in Maquoketa to Levi and Erma McCloy Arterberry. She married Harold “Jack” Carr on Dec. 16, 1955, in Maquoketa. He died in 1997.

She was a 1955 graduate of Maquoketa High School. She obtained one year of nurses training at Northeast Iowa Community College, Peosta.

She was a certified nurse’s aide and certified medical aide. She had worked with Clinton Engines, Hoffman Eggs, nursing homes and was a secretary with Garien Plumbing and Heating, Maquoketa, for many years.

She was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Maquoketa, and was involved in many aspects of church groups.

Survivors include her children, Greg Carr of DeWitt, Mrs. Pam (Sam) True of Maquoketa, Kevin (Gina) Carr of Delmar, Darren Carr of DeWitt, Stacy Eby of Maquoketa and Shannon Carr of Maquoketa; 12 grandchildren; and one sister, Lois Garien of Maquoketa.

A Muriel M. Carr Memorial Fund has been established.
