Carol J. Bielema, 71, of Thomson, Ill., died Thursday October 27, 2005, at her home.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at First Christian Reformed Church, Fulton, Ill., with the Rev. Wendell Davelaar, pastor of First Christian Reformed Church, and the Rev. Ron Abbott, pastor of York Community Church in Thomson, officiating. Interment will be at Lower York Cemetery, Thomson. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home.

She was born July 13, 1933, in Milledgeville, Ill., to Fred L. and Wilma C. Wade Miller. She married Merle J. Bielema on June 9, 1956, in Thomson.

She was educated in rural Carroll County, Ill., grade schools. She was a 1952 graduate of York Community High School in Thomson.

She was a teller for Savanna Savings, Building and Loan and Thomson State Bank.

She was a member of First Christian Reformed Church of Fulton and its Rebecca Society and choir; the Carroll County Home Extension Group; the Thomson Women’s Club; past president and lifetime member of the Thomson PTA; and the Tuesday Afternoon Bowling League at Fulton Lanes.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Brenda (Randy) Atherton of Thomson and Beth (Joe) Caven of Clinton; one son, Bruce (Lori) Bielema of Thomson; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three sisters, Iris Eye, Janice Brunner and Phyllis (Gene) Halfman, all of Thomson; two brothers, Ivan (Barb) Miller of Milledgeville and Richard (Karen) Miller of Thomson; one sister-in-law, Wilma Huizenga of Fulton; one brother-in-law, Henry Bielema of Fulton; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to FHN Hospice of Freeport, Ill., and First Christian Reformed Church, Fulton.
