SAVANNA, Ill. — Marjorie Drake, 89, formerly of Savanna, died Sunday Oct. 23, 2005, at the Eagle Point Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clinton.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna, with Associate Pastor Lisa Mapes, pastor of First United Methodist Church in Savanna, officiating. Burial will be in the Savanna Township Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

She was born Sept. 30, 1916, to C. Summner and Muzetta Sheets Darrow in Columbus Junction. She married Ray W. Drake on June 8, 1939, in Clinton. He died in 1978.

She graduated from Arlington High School in 1934.

She worked with the Eaton Corp., Savanna and Hanover, Ill., as an assembler and inspector.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Savanna; St. Paul Methodist Church, Bryant, Texas; the Savanna Women of the Moose; Civil Air Patrol; and a board member of the Brazose, Texas, Church Pantry.

Survivors include four sons, David (Karen) Drake of Iowa City, Richard (Hildie) Drake of Radcliffe, Ky., Roy W. (Janet) Drake of North Carolina and Robert (Sue) Drake of Derby, Kan.; three daughters, Mrs. Mary (Leon) Watkins-Lehmkuhl of Clinton, Mrs. Dorthea (Ira) Asbury of Zion, Ill., and Mrs. Patricia (James) Hall of Liberty, Mo.; 27 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Gaylord Darrow of Savanna.
