WINTERSET — The Rev. Lorna I. Welch, 93, of Winterset, died Saturday Oct. 15, 2005, at West Bridge Care and Rehabilitation, Winterset.

Visitation and funeral services were today at Ochiltree Funeral Service and Aftercare, Winterset.

She was born Oct. 3, 1912, in Winterset to Robert Burns and Zelma L. Peacock Pace. She married Seldon Welch on Dec. 21, 1964, in Grant City, Mo.

She was an ordained minister with the Association of International Gospel Assemblies Inc.

She served in Virginia and Missouri doing missionary work as well as Des Moines, Dubuque, Winterset and Clinton, where she served various times at the Open Door Mission homeless shelter and Christian Community Fellowship Church. She also worked with her father at his Winterset harness shop, for the mayor of Winterset and helped manage a local restaurant. She later operated a small nursing home in Lorimor.

Memorials may be made to a fund that has been established in her name.

Survivors include several nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one sister.
