SAVANNA, Ill. — Stanley I. Remrey, 69, of Savanna, died Tuesday Oct. 18, 2005, at Big Meadows Nursing Home, Savanna.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna, with the Rev. David Vidler, pastor of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mount Carroll, Ill., officiating. Burial will be in the Savanna Township Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

He was born Jan. 23, 1936, in Argo Fay, Ill., to Mark and Marcella (Frank) Remrey. He married Florence “Fussy” McCarthy Crist on June 16, 1979, in Savanna.

He attended Mount Carroll High School.

He farmed in rural Mount Carroll before retiring in 2001.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jeff Remrey of Princeton, Ill., and Kevin (Sharon) Remrey of Mount Morris, Ill.; two stepsons, Robert (Barbara) Crist of South Elgin, Ill., and Thomas Crist of Savanna; two daughters, Sherry Robinson of Bettendorf and Mrs. Tami (Ed) Bratcher of Earlville, Ill.; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Dana (Gary) Baglin of Savanna, Mrs. Martha (Steven) Lovely of Forest Hill, Md., and Mrs. Rae Ann (Dave) Reynolds of Savanna; three brothers, Philip (JoAnn) Remrey of Savanna, Denny (Carly) Remrey of Clinton and Boyd (Ruth Ann) Remrey of Savanna; 17 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
