Janice M. (Jan) Matheny, 65, of Clinton, Iowa, died Monday, July 25, 2005, at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City. Mass of the Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 28, 2005, at Prince of Peace Parish, Sacred Heart Church in Clinton. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Pape Funeral Home in Clinton. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Clinton.
Jan had managed Gateway Travel in Clinton for several years before becoming an owner of Tableware Boutique's. Most recently, Jan was back at Gateway Travel as a travel consultant.
Jan is survived by her husband, Robert (Pat) Matheny, of Clinton; four children, Greg (Marj) Matheny, of Hartland, Wis., Mrs. Carolyn (Dean) Petersen, of Clinton, Chris (Jean) Matheny, of Clinton, and Mike (Michelle) Matheny, of Macomb, Mich.; and nine grandchildren. Jan was preceded in death by her parents. Memorials may be made to the Prince of Peace Building Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
