Nancy Ann Nicolaysen, 65, of Clinton, Iowa, died Saturday, July 16, 2005, at her home after an extended illness. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m.Wednesday, July 20, 2005, at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Paul Holmer officiating. Burial will be in the Springdale Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Duane Luebe, Jack Pringle, Kent Lange, Gary Trenkamp, Ed Zirbes, and Rick Struck. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Anoop Aggarwal, Henry Clark, Dr. Preeti Bhatia, Umesh Bhatia, and Dr. John O'Shea. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home.
Nancy Ann Frederick was born on Aug. 14, 1939, in Joliet, Ill., the daughter of George F. and Dorothy M. (Koepcke) Frederick. She graduated valedictorian from Backus High School, Backus, Minn. She married Donald R. Nicolaysen on March 19, 1961, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Clinton. She retired from Medical Associates in Clinton after working 35 years. Previous to Medical Associates she worked at Jane Lamb Hospital.
She was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and was involved in the Daughters of the Nile. She enjoyed her hobby of rubber stamping, making greeting cards of all kinds, gardening, crafting, and grandparenting best.
She is survived by her husband, Donald, of Clinton; one son, Scott (Julie) Nicolaysen, of Albuquerque, N.M.; one daughter, Kari (Glen) Lystiuk, of Davenport; five grandchildren, Lindsey (13), Shelby (11), and Emily (10) Nicolaysen, and John (5) and Evan (2) Lystiuk; two sisters, Doris Coulter and Bea Lane, both of Brainerd, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Betty Temple, and one brother, George Frederick.
The family requests that memorials be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
