Michael Francis Hayes, 31, of Clinton, Iowa, died Friday, July 1, 2005, at his home in Clinton.
Services will be held at Prince of Peace Parish St. Mary's Catholic Church on Friday, July 8, 2005, at 10:30 a.m. Cremation will follow the service and burial of the cremains will be at a later date. Visitation will be at the Clinton Chapel of Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory on Thursday, July 7, 2005, from 4 to 7:30 p.m with a prayer and sharing service conducted at 7:30 p.m. Pallbearers will be Jenny Rowold, Simon Annoreno, Jeff Bursott, Dan Letsch, Eric Merten, Sarah Jirak and Peter Jirak.
Michael was born April 2, 1974, in Clinton, the son of Thomas and Martha (Koolbeck) Hayes III.
He attended Clinton High School, graduated from Lincoln Alternative High School in 1993 and attended Clinton Community College and Iowa State University.
He previously was married to Melinda Starr.
Michael enjoyed creative writing and drawing. He loved animals and being with friends, and he had a wonderful sense of humor.
Michael had been employed in management in the telemarketing field and On Cue. He also had been employed at Rastrelli's, and most recently was working at Hook's Pub.
Survivors include his parents, Thomas and Martha Hayes III, of Clinton; his brothers, John Thomas Hayes, of Clinton, and Patrick Joseph Hayes, of Clinton; and aunts, uncles, cousins and many special friends. Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Memorials may be made to the Lincoln Alternative School Scholarship Fund, the Clinton Humane Society, Prince of Peace Parish or charity of choice.
