Peter Steven Andersen, 43, of Watkinsville and formerly of Savanna, Ill., died Sept. 7, 2005 in Watkinsville.

There will be a celebration of his life at 7 p.m. Saturday at Maison Bleu in the Town Center on Main Street in Watkinsville. The Bernstein Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He was born Sept. 25, 1962, in Chicago to Harold and Nedra Andersen. He was raised in Savanna. He married Anne Pinsker Miller in May 1988 in Chicago.

He graduated in 1984 with a degree in business and finance from Northern Illinois University, Dekalb, Ill.

He joined the U.S. Navy in June 1988. His final post brought him to the Athens area as an instructor at the Naval Supply Corps Training School in 1997. While a reserve officer, he attained the rank of lieutenant commander, S.C., U.S.N.R. After retiring from active service, he and his wife moved to Watkinsville.

He was a manager of an event rental business at Ashford Manor. In January 2002, he and his wife opened Le Maison Bleu. He and his wife then opened Maison Bleu. The family also had a stand at the Watkinsville Farmer's Market.

He was chairman of the Watkinsville Business Committee of the Oconee Chamber.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter Alana Tamara Miller; his mother, Nedra Hulseberg of Sabula; three sisters, Kathy LaShelle of Hartland, Wis., Sherry Andersen of Savanna and Beth Andersen of Clinton; and two brothers, Harold Jr. of Charlotte, N.C., and Jeff of Savanna.
