Loraine C. Waugh, 91, of DeWitt, died Thursday October 6, 2005 at Westwing Place, DeWitt.

Visitation will be at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday. Service of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Grand Mound. The Rev. Dennis Arndt will officiate. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt.

Pallbearers will be Tim Waugh, Jon Waugh, Dan Waugh, Adam Carson, Lisa Waugh-Carson, Kevin Andrews and Larry Soenksen.

She was born in Clinton on Aug. 4, 1914, to Henry and Alvina Hein Licht. She married Donald Elbert Waugh on December 7, 1941, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lowden. He died Dec. 24, 1993.

Prior to her marriage, she worked as a switchboard operator for the Lowden Telephone Company. The couple farmed in the Elwood area, retiring to DeWitt in 1977. While residing in DeWitt, she worked for Stuedemann Feed Service for several years.

She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Grand Mound, and was active in many of the church organizations. She was a longtime Sunday school teacher and member of the Ladies Aid.

Survivors include three sons, Everett (Gayle) Waugh, Baltimore, Md., Darryl (Judy) Waugh, Clinton, and Dennis (Barb) Waugh, Dubuque; eight grandchildren;and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers and three sisters.

The family suggests memorials be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church or Westwing Place.
