1901 - 2005

Services for Anna M. Badtke, 104, will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 18, 2005, at Grace Lutheran Church, DeWitt, Iowa. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday until the time of service at Grace Lutheran Church, DeWitt. Memorials may be made to the church. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery following the luncheon at the church. Nelson Funeral Home, DeWitt, is assisting the family.
Anna died peacefully on Tuesday, June 14, 2005, at Wheatland Manor, at the age of 104.
Anna Mary (Chrabkow) Badtke was born in Youngstown, Ohio, on March 10, 1901, the daughter of Hannes and Maria (Dvaratzki) Chrabkow. She married Paul Badtke at the age of 17 and farmed in the Charlotte area until his death in 1947. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, including Ruth Circle. She was active in the church choir for many years. In her earlier years she was a 4-H leader in Charlotte and a member of the Homemakers Club and Flower Club.
She is survived by one daughter, Vivian (Delmar) Giebelstein, Davenport; one son, Rodney Badtke, DeWitt; six grandchildren, Joe Giebelstein, Patty Hoffmann, Jim, John and Jeff White, and Becky Marshall; 10 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren She was preceded in death by two daughters and one son.
