Robert J. Brandenburg, 69, of Camanche, Iowa, died Thursday, June 9, 2005, at the VA Hospital in Iowa City. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Pape Funeral Home, Clinton, Iowa. Visitation will be 2-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and Monday 10 a.m. until the service hour at the funeral home. Burial will be at St. Irenaeus Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his grandsons and members of the Boy Scout Troop #642 of Clinton. Memorials may be given to Boy Scouts of America, Illowa Council.
Robert was born Sept. 16, 1935, in Clinton, the son of Henry and Gladys (Manning) Brandenburg. He graduated from Clinton High School in 1954. He served with the U.S. Air Force from 1954 to 1958. He owned and operated the Electronic Repair Shop on Main Avenue for many years. He was the Assistant Scoutmaster for Troop #642 in Clinton, where he served the Troop Committee and the Order of the Arrow.
Robert is survived by his two daughters, Mrs. Polly (Michael) Jacobs, of Clinton, and Mrs. Angie (Daniel) Embers, of Camanche; three sons, Robert J. Brandenburg, of Green Meadows, La., Mark (Danlelle) Brandenburg, of Sacramento, Calif., and Raymond Brandenburg; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Richard Brandenburg, of Albany, Ill. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and a grandson.
