Marie L. Wilcke, 97, of Clinton, formerly of Miles, Iowa, died Thursday, May 12, 2005, at the Alverno Health Care Facility in Clinton.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 16, 2005, at the Miles Presbyterian Church with the Rev. William Warhover officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Pape Funeral Home in Clinton, and from 10 a.m. until the service time on Monday at the church. Burial will be in the Miles Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Marie's grandchildren, Randy and Gary Wilcke, Eric and Kari Jensen, Jeff and Robert Wilcke, Brenda McKone, Kris Orr and Monica Wilcke.
Marie was born on April 11, 1908, on the family farm in rural Clinton County, the daughter of Ingwer and Sabina Danielsen Andresen. She married Marvin Wilcke at the family farm on Sept. 2, 1925. Marvin died in 1988. Marie was a homemaker and helped farm with her husband.
She was a member of the Miles Presbyterian Church, was an avid Cubs fans, and enjoyed gardening.
Marie is survived by a daughter, Joyce Lenz and her husband, Kenneth Lange, of Green Valley, Ariz.; three sons, Leland (Dorothy) Wilcke, of rural Clinton, Ronald (Gloria) Wilcke, of Miles, and Kenneth (Ruth) Wilcke, of Walcott, Iowa; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, a great-grandson, two brothers, and three sisters.
Memorials may be made to Marvin and Marie Wilcke Scholarship Fund at East Central or the Miles Presbyterian Church.
