Kathryn A. Zimmerman, 70, of Clinton, Iowa, died Monday, April 25, 2005, at Harbor Crest Nursing Home, Fulton, Ill.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 28, 2005, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Clinton, Iowa. The Rev. Elizabeth Liggett will officiate. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today at the Fulton Chapel, Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fulton Township Cemetery, Fulton. Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Clinton.
She was born June 24, 1934, in Red Oak, Iowa, to Reuben and Irene (Pearson) Anderson. She was a graduate of Red Oak High School and received a bachelor's degree from Augustana College, Rock Island.
She married James H. Zimmerman on August 3, 1957, in Red Oak. He survives.
She was employed as a teacher and librarian at Fulton High School for 26 years, retiring in 1982.
She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Clinton, where she served as Sunday School Superintendent and served in many leadership roles in the Iowa Synod of the ELCA. She also served as a "hospital volunteer" for Mercy Medical System, Clinton.
Survivors include her husband, Jim Zimmerman; two sisters-in-law, Barbara (Mrs. Harold) Williams, Lockport, Ill., and Marilee (Mrs. Dale) Vonderheide, Pekin, Ill.; two brothers-in-law, Wayne (Bonna) Zimmerman, Metamora, Ill., and Glenn Zimmerman, Pekin, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.
