Mrs. Margaret C. Ferguson, 98, DeWitt, Iowa, died Thursday morning, Nov. 4, 2004 at Westwing Place, DeWitt.
Mrs. Ferguson, the former Margaret Cecelia Grimm, the daughter of Albert and Marie (Jacobson) Grimm was born Feb. 25, 1906, on a farm at Rural Grand Mound, Iowa. She married Roy Ferguson Aug. 23, 1929, in Clinton, Iowa. They farmed in Iowa and Wisconsin until retirement to Calamus. Roy preceded Margaret in death on Feb. 13, 1989. She was a longtime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Grand Mound, Iowa. Margaret greatly enjoyed her family, flowers and gardening.
Surviving are her children, Lester and his wife, Sondra, Gilbert, Ariz., Robert and his wife, Barb, DeWitt, Marilyn Kittle and her husband, Silas, Sun Prairie, Wis., Derwood and his wife, Linda, Henagar, Ala.; 17 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Along with her husband, Roy, she was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Dorothy Seamer; and three brothers, Alfred Grimm, Harold Grimm and Walter Grimm.
Family and friends may visit at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 7, 2004. Service of Christian Burial 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 8, 2004, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Grand Mound, the Rev. Dennis Arndt officiating. Interment at Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt. Memorials are suggested to Immanuel Lutheran Church or a charity of your choosing.
Pallbearers will be Bill Kofron, Rick Liske, Jeff Liske, Matt Liske, David Lust, and Bob Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Scott Kittle, Jeff Ferguson, Alan Ferguson, Phil Ferguson, and Dave Liske. A photo tribute may be viewed and condolences expressed at www.schultzfuneralhomes.com.
