Rosanna H. Pelton, 88, of Clinton, Iowa, died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2004, at Harbor Crest Nursing Home, Fulton, Ill. Private Family Funeral Services will be Thursday at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig-Dennis A. Lemke Funeral Homes and Crematory. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery. There will be no public visitation.
Rosanna Howard was born Sept. 30, 1915, in Brownsville, Texas, the daughter of Edwin Roy Tilden and Rosanna (Small) Howard. She married Charles H. Pelton on July 14, 1939, in Florence, Ala.; he died April 17, 1998.
She was a graduate of Eagle Lake High School in Eagle Lake, Texas. She also attended Iowa State University. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, a member of PEO, community concerts, AGATHA circle, and Daughters of the American Revolution.
She is survived by her two sons, Charles H. Pelton and his wife Dorothy O'Brien, of Clinton, Iowa, and John T. Pelton and his wife Beth, of Solon, Iowa; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Beth Lanane, of Columbus, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, and one sister.
