Mary Jane Dodge, 89, of Clinton passed away Saturday, September 10, 2005 at Mercy Medical Center South. Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Lemke Funeral Home South Chapel 2600 Lincolnway, Clinton, with Pastor Dennis Glew and Pastor Mike Jones officiating. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 P.M. Tuesday at Lemke Funeral Home-South, and one hour prior to service.

Pallbearers will be John Dusanek, Chad Dusanek, Jeff Small, Regan Small, Jerry Rathje and Jim Rathje. Honorary Pallbearers will be Scott Jackson and Jim Rumfelt.

She was born September 5, 1916 in Basil, Ohio to Leo Burnette Burton and Ada M.C. (Yencer) Burton. She graduated from Clinton High School. She married Vernon F. Jones in Phoenix, AZ. She later married Cleon Dodge, April 6, 1942 in Kahoka, Missouri. He preceded her in death in 2003.

Mary Jane worked as a waitress for Aldon's Cafe and Allen's Tea Room. She was a typist at Burpee Seed and Clinton Teachers Agency. She also worked for Spiegel's Catalog Ordering Store and Klines Department Store.

She enjoyed playing the piano and organ. She played at Schick Hospital and Church Festivities. She enjoyed her family, cats, crocheting, and her friends. She was a member of 1st United Methodist Church of Clinton.

Family mourning her loss include her daughters Frances Barsema of (Agro Fay) Thomson, IL., Cleo Kaye (John) Dusanek of Olin, Iowa, Dixie Lee Small and Friend Frank Hampton, of Corydon, Iowa and Lynda Rae Anderson, of Clinton, Iowa. 10 Grandchildren, 19 Great-grandchildren, and 5 Great Great Grandchildren.

Her parents, her husband, her daughter Janice Lee Jones, and her son-in-law, Kenneth J. Barsema, preceded her in death.
