Kassel funeral is Wednesday

Camanche- Katherine E. Kassel, 75, of Camanche. died Saturday at Mercy North Hospital.

Furenal services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Lemke Funeral Home, South Chapel, 2600 Lincoln Way . burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Vistation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be James ,Garien, Carl, and William Kassel, and Carl and William Coon and Kenneth Staggs.

She was born May 3 1929, in Lizella, Ga., to Joseph and Irene (Cumming) Hunnicut. She married Carl Leonard Kassel on July 12, 1946 in Clinton. He died in 1994.

She was employed with the Jim Walters Co. and FW Means Clean Towel Co. She also was employed as a manager of the snack bar at the Clinton Drive-In.

Survivors include one son, DeMar Robert "Bob" (Vicki) Kassel of Camanche; one sister Evelyn Coon of Davenport; six grandchildren; Nine great-grandchildren ; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial fund will be established.

She was preceded in death by her husband , parents, two brothers and one niece.
