Carl L. Kassel, 67, 1009W. 6th St. Davenport, Iowa formerly of Clinton, died Tuesday at Davenport Medical Center.

The funeral wil be 11 a.m. Friday at Nelson Funeral Home, Clinton, with Rev. F.E. Schoenbohm, Luthran pastor emeritus, officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery.

Mr. Kassel ws born Aug14, 1927, in Sabula to Burt and Marjorie(Coon) Kassel. He married Katherine Hunnicutt, July 22, 1946,in Clinton. He served in the U.S. armed forces during World War II and was employed as a truck driver for 30 years, retiring in 1989. He enjoyed golfing , hunting, fishing , and bowling.

Survivors include his wife of Davenport; a son DeMar "Robert" of Camanche; six grandchildren ; four great-grandchildren; and a step-brother Erinie Doughergy of Moline.

He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
