Howard L.Coon 75, of 703 20th Ave. North, died Sunday at Samaritan North. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cannon Funeral Home. with the Rev, Fred Schauer of Chancy Lutheran Church officiating. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the home. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Thomas Broadrick, Robert and Thomas Coon , Chris Nixon, Kenneth Harrington and DeMarr "Butch" Kassell. Honorary pallbearers will be Andrew Nixon, Donald Primes and Robert Primes.

He was born Sept 11, 1922 in Sabula to Price Eugene and Bertha Jane Burton Coon. He Married Marion Primes, Sept 26, 1942, in Clinton.

He attended the Sabula schools. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Army. He was awarded a Purple Heart.

He had been employed with Clinton Corn Processing Co. for 28 years, retiring in 1978. He also was employed with the maintenance department at Samaritan Hospital North for two years.

He was a member of Chancy Lutheran Church. Survivors include his wife , and a daughter, Debra L Coon of Clinton. He was preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters.
