Diana Sue (Gossard) VanZuiden, age 76 of Clinton, IA, passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2022, at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. Cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at Cattail Park in Fulton, IL at a later date. The Pape Funeral Home in Clinton is assisting the family. Diana was born April 21, 1945 in Fulton, IL, the daughter of Robert and Georgia (Norman) Gossard. Diana married and later divorced Roy B. Hager. In 1992, she married the love of her life, Larry VanZuiden. Diana worked at GE with her sister Pat. She was a top sales associate for MADD. She worked as an in-home caregiver. Diana helped establish the Illowa Thrift Store in Fulton, IL, and volunteered with Larry at Circus World in Baraboo, WI. She was an avid reader and enjoyed watching western movies and sports. Larry and Diana went on many adventures together, especially going to national state parks. She loved life and lived it to the fullest. She was an amazing mother, the best grandma, and the funniest great grandma. She loved spoiling her grandkids and great-grand kids.
Diana is survived by her five children, Rod (Claudia) Gossard of Fulton, IL; Dennis Hager of Clinton, IA; Rhonda (Stacey) Robertson of Clinton, IA; Rory (Julie) Hager of Thomson, IL; and Dan (Christine) Hager of St. Augustus, FL; three step-children; 32 grandchildren and 43 great grandchildren; her sister, Pat (Arlyn) Zuidema of Morrison, IL; and a brother, Dick (Sue) Gossard of Fulton, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister in infancy, her brother LeRoy, and her loving husband Larry.
