Clinton Herald, Wednesday November 14, 1990, p. 14. Thomas J. O'Neil, 61, of 1407 4th Ave. Sterling, died Tuesday at CGH Medical Center, Sterling. The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Grennan Funeral Home, Sterling. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Sterling. Pallbearers will be the deacons of the Rockford Diocese. Mr. O'Neil was born Feb. 13, 1929, in Clinton, to Thomas and Helen Mallary O'Neil. He married Virginia Ann "Nancy" Price, Oct. 3, 1953, in Chicago. He was a Federal Bank Examiner for 38 years and a deacon at St. Mary's Catholic Church since 1976. He was chaplain at CGH Medical Center. He was a member of Sterling Ministerial Association and Toast Masters. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Ellen Meidl of Jefferson, Wis., Suzanne O'Neil of Sterling, six sons, Matthias of Blytheville, Ark., Dennis of Sterling, Capt. Timothy of Watertown, N.Y., Michael of Allendale, N.J., John of Aurora, Ill., and Joseph of Colorado Springs, Colo.; seven grandchildren; and a brother, Donald of Norco, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son and a brother. Death date: Nov. 13, 1990.
