The Clinton Herald Saturday November 25, 1967 p. 13 Peter M. Craig, 14 year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Craig of rural DeWitt, died Friday, from injuries sustained when the tractor he was driving overturned and fell on him. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph's Catholic church in DeWitt, with Rev. John F. Hynes officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's cemetery. Friends may callin the Hanrahan funeral home after 7:30 p.m. today. The parish rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Peter Mark Craig was born in Davenport Sept. 3, 1953, the son of Clarence and Agnita Crowley Craig. His family later moved to DeWitt, where he was a freshman at DeWitt Community high school. Surviving are his parents and one sister, Cassandra Jane, at home.
The Clinton Herald Saturday November 25, 1967 p. 8 Youth Killed In Accident DeWitt- Peter Mark Craig, 14, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Craig of Route 2, DeWitt, became Iowa's sisth Thanksgiving holiday traffic victim as the result of a tractor accident about 12:30 p.m. Friday on the DeWitt Airport road, northeast of DeWitt. The youth was driving the tractor along the gravel road whent he shoulder gave way and the tractor overturned on him, causing fatal head injuries. Young Craig, who was a freshman at Central Community high school, is survived by his parents and one sister. (Funeral arrangements, p. 13.)
