Services for Elsie L. Hamann, 80, of Lost Nation, were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 27, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Lost Nation, with the Rev. Donnita Moeller officiating.
Pallbearers were Kenneth Marshall, David Witte, Rick Weirup, Harry Rubel, Owens Hans and Robert Hare.
Burial was in Buckhorn Cemetery, rural Maquoketa.
Hayden Funeral Home, Lost Nation, was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Hamann died Tuesday, June 23, 1998, at Genesis Medical Center - East Campus, Davenport, after an extended illness.
Elsie Schroeder was born Oct. 16, 1917, near Lost Nation. She married Walter Hamann in Clinton County. He died in 1979.
Mrs. Hamann and her husband farmed the family farm all their married lives.
She was a member of the church.
She was very family-oriented, enjoyed being with her family and collecting bells.
A memorial fund has been established.
Survivors include a daughter, Janie (Mrs. Darrell) Kroh, Wheatland; sons, Larry, Maquoketa, and Jim, Long Grove; six grand-children; four great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ethel Bicknese, Lost Nation.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda; and two brothers, Albert and Orville Schroeder.
