The Clinton Herald, Wednesday February 19, 1964, p. 20. Mrs. Katie E. Kross, 88, formerly of the Clinton and Almont area, died Tuesday in the home of her daughter, mrs. Elmer J. Miller of Dubuque with whom she had lived since 1949. Re- celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Patrick's Church. Burial will be in St. Irenaeus Calvary cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Thursday at the Pape funeral home. Members of St. Patrick's parish will recite the rosary at 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Katie E. McGrath was born near Andover, Jan. 2, 1876, the daughter of John and Margaret Dolan McGrath. She was married Oct. 15, 1902 in Bryant ot C.R. Kross. She was a member of St. Columbkille's Church and Altar and Rosary Society of Dubuque. She is survived by three sons, Ralph E. of Clinton, Earl V. of Lowden, and Clarence R. of Carroll; one daughter, Mrs. Elmer J. (Betty) Miller of Dubuque; two brothers, Frank H. of Clinton, Edward V., Milledgeville, Ill.; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 1939; two sisters, and one brother.
