The Clinton Daily Herald Monday November 1, 1905 H.H. Manemann, Prominent Clinton County Former, Answers Call Death From Effects of an Operantion Remains Reach Clinton This Morning Funeral to be Held Wednesday Morning From St. Boniface Church News of the death in St. Louis of H.H. Manemann, one of Clinton county's most prominent farmers, was received with deep regret by the many friends of the deceased in this vicinity Saturday night. Mr. Manemann's death was the result of an operation which was performed in a hospital in St. Louis. The remains reached Clinton over the Burlington road at 8:45 o'clock this morning and were taken to the late home five miles west of the city. The funeral will be held Wednesday morning. The cortege will leave the residence at 7:30 o'clock, proceeding to St. Boniface church, on the north side, where a requiem high mass will be celebrated. Interment will then be effected in St. Boniface cemetery. Accompanied by his wife Mr. Mannemann left for St. Louis about three years ago, it becoming imperative that an operation be performed as the only possible relief from a physical affliction with which he had been visited. The operation was performed and it was thought that it was successful. In a few days however, complications set in and another operation was performed which resulted fatally. The deceased was 51 years of age and was born in Clinton county, where he always resided. He was among the county's most prosperous and substantial farmers, owning and operating a large farm west of this city. Surviving him are his wife, a son, Henry Mannemann, Jr., and five daughters, Mrs. John Droste, Mrs. Clement Droste and Misses clara, Lizzie and Lena Manemann, all residing west of the city, the unmarried members of the family on the old homestead. The parents of the deceased were among the earliest residents of Clinton county and the family is well known throughout the entire county. Many friends regret the death of Mr. Manemann and extend sincere sympathy to the afflicted family.
