Merrill Holsapple passed away Sunday morning at 1:15 o'clock from influenza, pneumonia settling in which proved fatal at the hour stated above. Deceased was born at LeClaire, Iowa, Feb 3, 1886, and was therefore 32 years of age.

Mr. Holsapple's wife is also very ill at Mercy hospital and her condition makes the death a particularly sad one.

Merrill Holsapple was a resident of DeWitt for a number of years, being engaged in the barber business. Later he worked as Delco light salesman for Conover & Co for a few months and then was given a territory of his own. He worked in the east end of Clinton county and moved to Clinton a few months ago. During their short residence here Mr. and Mrs. Holsapple made many friends who will be sorry to hear of his death and also of the wife's serious illness.

He leaves to mourn his loss his wife and one daughter, Bernice, another daughter, Madeline, passing away Feb. 6th of this year. He also leaves his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Holsapple, and two sisters, Misses Annie and Lura, of McCausland.

Funeral arrangements are not fully completed owing to the serious condition of his wife.
