Gustave Henry Pruhs was born in Grand Mound, Ia., August 15, 1885, and spent most of his life on the farm northeast of Calamus, Ia., until six years ago, when the family moved to Calamus, where he died May 30, 1920, at the age of 35 years. He leaves to mourn his loss his mother and sister, Lydia, at home, Henry, Fred, and Mrs. Elmer Swarm of Calamus, Ia., and Mrs. E. A. Ketelson of Elwood, Ia., and many other relatives and friends. His father preceded him in death three years ago. Funeral services were held in the Methodist church Tuesday afternoon, Rev. John Dawson officiating, and burial was made in the Calamus cemetery.
