William R. "Bill" Oveson, age 71 of Clinton, passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at his home. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:30 PM Friday, June 5th at the Pape Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 3:00 PM at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
Bill was born in Ottumwa, Iowa on July 23, 1948, the son of William and Genevieve (Buntemeyer) Oveson. He graduated from Clinton High School and attended Clinton Community College. Bill married Jacqueline "Jackie" Jamison on July 31, 1993 in Clinton. He was employed at Clinton Corn Processing /ADM for 43 years. As a teenager Bill loved working on the Buntemeyer farms. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, playing cards, having a good time and enjoying a can of beer. He was proud of his new car and was meticulous in its care.
Bill is survived by his wife Jackie; 3 children, Salina Loescher of Illinois, Jim Jamison of Camanche and Jeanine Bielema of Thomson, IL; 5 grandchildren, James, Justin and Josh Jamison and Bobby and Kyle Bielema; 4 great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Lennon, Tateum and Nova; 2 sisters, Renee Stoltz of Minneapolis and Carol (Don) Olsen of Chicago; 2 nieces, Becky Bedrosian and Jenna Olsen and a nephew, Todd Stoltz.
