Ernest Petersen passed away Saturday evening at 6:35 o'clock at his home in Hauntown after an illness of about a year. Death was due to typhoid fever.

Mr. Petersen was born in Clinton county, June 5, 1877, and was just 38 years of age the day of his death. July 12, 1899 he was married to Miss Augustine Eggert and since that they have lived at Hauntown, Iowa, where Mr. Petersen was a prominent and prosperous young farmer.

He leaves besides his wife, one daughter, Viola, his mother, Mrs. D. Petersen; two sisters, Mrs. Annie Grimm and Mrs. Mayme Craddock, and the following brothers, Peter, Henry, John, Frank, Detlef, Jerry and Herman.

The funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home, with interment in Andover cemetery.
