When Martin Petersen died this morning at Agatha hospital he followed his wife and new-born infant in death within a period of four days.
The child was laid to rest Saturday, and Mrs. Petersen died Sunday. At 4 o'clock this afternoon a double funeral will be held from the home of Antone Allesse, 508 North Fourth street, and the remains of the husband and wife will be placed beside those of their child in Springdale.
Thus the members of an entire family have passed away within the brief period of four days.
Mr. and Mrs. Petersen lived at 312 Oak street. Mr. Petersen was born in Germany 37 years ago, and until his final illness had been in the service of Jent G. Thorne, city engineer. A sister, Mrs. Sophia Hass of this city survives him; also four brothers, Otto Petersen of Davenport, and Hans, August and James Petersen of Clinton.
Mrs. Anna Petersen, the wife of the deceased, was aged 34 years. Her death also was caused by pneumonia. She was born in Clinton in 1881, and spent her entire life in this city.
Rev. P. Gotke, pastor of the Danish Lutheran church, will conduct the double funeral this afternoon.
