May 12, 1915 - The Clinton Advertiser page 6

The sudden death of Mrs. Fred Rumble yesterday noon shocked her many friends. Mrs. Rumble had been seated at the dinner table at her home, 922 second street, but a few minutes when a sudden exclamation caused the nurse in attendance to run to her aid. She was already beyond help.

Mrs. Rumble felt deeply the death of her husband half a year ago and recently has been in failing health. The sudden end, however, was totally unexpected. She had been a resident of Clinton since her marriage shortly after the close of the civil war, through which her husband served. Before that she lived near Aurora, Ill. She was an active worker in the Presbyterian church and was chaplain of the Clara Barton Circle.

Mrs. Rumble leaves two sons, Allen of Tipton and William of Laurel, Miss., a brother, Charles Warden of Chicago and a niece, Mrs. F. A. Petersen of Clinton. Funeral services will probably be held Friday afternoon, final arrangements being held up until word is received from out of town relatives.
