Miss Lena Hansen of this city passed away in Chicago Tuesday evening.

Intelligence of her death was contained in a telegram which reached Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Fay this morning. Miss Hansen had for twenty-three years been employed in the Fay household entering it when in her early girlhood. She came from her native home in Europe to seek her fortune in America. During her residence in Clinton Miss Hansen won the esteem of all who knew her, while her fidelity to duty gave her a high place in the regard of those with whom she was associated for so many years.

The deceased was taken sick last July, when she went to the Chicago hospital. Since then she had gradually grown worse, until her death occurred Tuesday night. The remains will be brought to Clinton for interment, reaching here at 5 o'clock this afternoon over the Chicago & North-western. Funeral arrangements will be announced tomorrow.

The remains of Miss Lena Hansen, who died in Chicago Tuesday night, reached Clinton at 5 o'clock Wednesday evening, and the funeral will be held at 2:30 o'clock Friday afternoon from the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Fay, on Fourth avenue. Rev. G. R. Cady, pastor of the First Congregational church, will officiate. Interment will be in Springdale cemetery.

The funeral of the late Miss Lena Hansen, who passed away Tuesday evening in Chicago, was held Friday afternoon from the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Fay, on Fourth avenue.

The service was in charge of Rev. George L. Cady, pastor of the First Congregational church, who read favorite scriptural passages of the deceased Clinton girl, and in an eloquent funeral sermon lauded her life and influence for good it had been among those who knew her. The minister spoke of the mission on earth of the quiet souls whose loyalty and devotion to duty make the world better.

The beautiful casket as strewn with floral tokens, the last tribute of friends of the deceased. At Springdale cemetery, Mr. Cady read a scriptural passage, and a brief prayer was recited.

The pall bearers were J. F. Turrill, Charles S. Ashton, Earl W. Olds, Arthur H. Hansen, E. A. Olds of Albany, Ill., and T. V. Murphy.,
