Hartman funeral is Wednesday
Chadwick, Ill. -- Martha Cathrine Hartman, 96, of Chadwick, died Saturday at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Mount Carroll, Ill.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Chadwick, with the Rev. Marica Strahl officiating. Burial will be in the Chadwick Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the service time Wednesday at the church.
She was born May 14, 1908, in Morrison, Ill., to Henry and Mattie Drewes Johnson. She married Albert Hartman on Feb. 2, 1927, in Chadwick. He died in 1980.
She and her husband operated a meat processing plant in Chadwick for many years. She also worked with the Sterling (Ill.) Fashion Shop.
She was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, past matron and 50-year member of the The Order of the Eastern Star and past president and a 50-year member of the Republican Women's Club.
Survivors include one nephew and two nieces.
A memorial fund has been established in her name.
She was preced in death by her parents, husband and two sisters.
