Miss Stella Childs passed away at 10:30 o'clock this morning at her home, 1216 North Second street, after a weeks illness. Death was due to acute diabetes.

The deceased was born March 30, 1861, in Jefferson county, New York, and came west with her parents to Clinton county in 1862. She resided on a farm near Low Moor until 1895, when with her parents she moved to 1216 North Second street, where she has resided ever since. Miss Childs had many friends both in Lyons and Clinton who will be deeply grieved to learn of her death. She was prominent in club life in Clinton, being a member of the Past Matron's club of the Lyons lodge No. 30, O.S.S.; a member of the Century club, and was registrar for the Clinton Woman's club. She has been very active in Y.W.C.A. work, in Red Cross work and has worked untiringly for the M.E. church of Clinton, of which she was a member.

Surviving the deceased are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Childs, one sister, Mrs. F. W. Damour of Cedar Rapids, one brother, William H. Childs, of this city , and three nephews, Marquis and Henry Childs, and William Henry Damour.

The funeral will probably be held Tuesday afternoon, June 12th, from her late home, 1216 North Second street. Interment will be made in Oakland cemetery.

Funeral services for the late Miss Stella Childs will be held from the family residence, 1216 North Second street, tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. The Rev. Locke will officiate at the home and the Lyons Chapter of the Eastern Star will hold their service at Oakland cemetery.

Funeral services for the late Miss Stella Childs were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home, 1216 North Second street. The Rev. M. J. Locke conducted the services at the home. Mrs. Hammarstrom and Miss Lundy rendered beautiful musical numbers. Interment was made at Oakland cemetery, where the service was in charge of the Lyons chapter of O.E.S.

Active pall bearers for the deceased were A. B. Rathbun, George F. Skinner, C. J. Thompson, Edward Moessinger, Charles Satow and Fred Rice.

Those who were present from out of the city were: Mrs. Frank Childs and Miss Clara Childs of Manchester, Ia., and Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Hirst, Mrs. L. O. Keedick and Miss Mary Hiak, of Cedar Rapids, and Mr. and Mrs. Alden Van Epps of Low Moor, Ia.
