Mrs. Elizabeth McCarl, aged 77, died at 2:30 a.m. today from heart trouble at the home of her son, Dr. Jacob S. McCarl. Mrs. McCarl had been in poor health all winter. She was an old resident and an early settler in the county. She lived on a farm near the city until the death of her husband, Freeman McCarl, a few years ago.

She is survived by three sons, J. S. and Thomas of DeWitt and Samuel of South Dakota. Funeral services have not yet been arranged, but they will be held here and she will be laid to rest beside her husband here.

Funeral services for the late Mrs. McCarl were held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in the United Presbyterian church, conducted by Rev. M L. Neill, the cortege first assembling at the Dr. J. F. McCarl home. Interment was made in Elmwood cemetery. Friends of the deceased who acted as pallbearers were Richard Baldwin, Thos. Dignan, Jas. Dognan, George Walter, J. McDonald, of DeWitt and Fred Rice of Low Moor.
