Mrs. Jane Dearborn died of dropsy last night at 11 o'clock at the home of her son, Willard, in North DeWitt. She was 82 years of age and is survived by one son, Willard, and one daughter, Mrs. Anna Rhubottom, living in Correctionville.

Funeral services will be held at the M.E. church Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock and interment will be made in Elwood cemetery.

Funeral services of the late Mrs. Jane Dearborn were held Wednesday afternoon at the M.E. church. The pastor, Rev. W. H. Mitchell, had charge of the services. Music was furnished by Miss Allie Holsapple, Mrs. W. S. Saltmarsh, Mrs. E. J. Miller, Rev. Mitchell and G. M. Smith. Friends who acted as bearers of the pall were D. Armentrout, William Lee, William Cameron, Henry Seifert, C. F. Kent and Phil Butterfus. Mr. and Mrs. James Dearborn of Davenport, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Dearborn of Rock Island, Mrs. Abner Merritt of Andrew, Mr. and Mrs. Johnston of Maquoketa, Mrs. Hunter of Elwood, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Davis of Delmar, and Mr. Merritt of Andrew , were here to attend the funeral.

Eliza Jane Dennis was born in Lockport, N.Y. June 18th, 1835, and passed from earth May 7th, 1917.

In 1837 her parents moved to Lyons, Iowa, and seven years later they moved to a farm near DeWitt, and since that time the deceased had lived in this vicinity.

In November, 1857, she was united in marriage to Mr. J. W. Dearborn. To this union three children were born--Mrs. Ellen Saltmarsh, who departed this life in May, 1893; Mrs. Annie Phewbottom of Correctionville, Iowa, and Willard, of DeWitt. Mr. Dearborn left this earth in July, 1897.

In addition to her children, many other relatives and friends mourn her departure.

Mrs. Dearborn was long a member of the Methodist church.
