John Dettner died at 1:30 o'clock this morning at his home, 1142 Liberty street, after an illness of six years.

The deceased was born June 3, 1850 at Pahlin, Germany. He came to America in 1882 and has lived in Clinton since that date.

Mr. Dettner was employed at the factory of C Lamb and Sons; also by Petersen, Bell and Co. where he was employed when his health caused him to retire.

Those who are bereaved are his wife, four sons, Herman, Clinton, John, Chicago, Elmer, Madison, Wis.; Will, at home and one sister, Mrs. Peter Hansen, Holstein, Neb.

The funeral will probably be held Sunday, the arrangements pending word from relatives in Nebraska. Further notice will be given. The Rev. A. H. Lutz of the German Lutheran church will officiate.

Funeral arrangements for the late John Dettner of this city have been completed. The services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home on 1142 Liberty street, the Rev. A. H. Lutz of the German Lutheran church officiating. The out of town relatives who will be here for the services are Mr. and Mrs. John Dettner of Chicago and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer of Madison, Wis. Mr. Harry Kimball of Des Moines has already arrived.
