A special message to the ADVERTISER this morning tells of the death of Banley Vaughn, of this city, at the old soldiers' home at Marshalltown. Mr. Vaughn died Saturday night of heart disease.

The deceased was 72 years of age and had seen actual service with the ninth Iowa infantry. He came to the home at Marshalltown on April 20.

The widow, Mrs. Laura Vaughn, reached her husband's bedside, Saturday evening, one hour after his death. Funeral services will be held at Marshalltown this afternoon.
