Late Wednesday afternoon the relatives and many friends of John Holdgrafer of this city were shocked to learn of Mr. Holdgrafer's sudden death which occurred about 4 o'clock while he was attending to his duties at the Clinton Saddlery Company's plant in Clinton. His death was caused by heart failure.
Deceased was born in Hanover, Germany, Oct. 15, 1846 and came to this country with his parents when he was one year old. They lived in Galena, Ill., for several years and later came to this city. Mr. Holdgrafer was united in marriage April 20, 1870 to Miss Mary Wellner of this city and has lived here since 1884. He is survived by his wife and six children, William and John of this city, Herman Holdgrafer and Miss Herman Holdgrafer, both of Epsie, Mont., Mrs. Joe Ullrich of Uet, Ia., and Mrs. George Manning living west of this city.
He was a member of the Woodmen of the World and also of the Arbeiter Verein. The funeral arrangements have not be completed pending word from relatives in Montana. Friends are requested to omit flowers.

The funeral of the late John Holdgrafer who passed away suddenly Wednesday evening while at his work at the Clinton Saddlery plant, will be held Monday morning, at 9 o'clock with services at St. Boniface church, followed by burial in St. Boniface cemetery.

The remains of the late John Holdgrafer will be interred Monday morning in St. Boniface cemetery, following the services which are to be held at 9 o'clock at St. Boniface church.
