Hans J. Hansen of this city passed away at his home, 715 Old Main street, early this morning, after having suffered a stroke of paralysis a few days ago, his death occurring at 1:45 o'clock.
The deceased was born in Holm, Germany, Feb. 16, 1965, and came to this country when 20 years of age. He first lived at Preston and later came to Lyons in 1885. That same year he was united in marriage to Miss Catherine Witt who survives him with his aged mother and three children, Mrs. Thos. McKenna and Mrs. Elmer Christiansen of Chicago and William Hansen of this city, besides six grandchildren.
Mr. Hansen had been a resident of this city since 1885 and has followed the occupation of painter. His funeral services will be held on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home, with burial to be made in Oakland cemetery.

Rev. Hugo Grimm conducted the funeral services over the body of the late Hans Hansen Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home, 715 Old Main street. The pallbearers were the following Joe Bormann, John Dever, Carl David, Theodore Overkamp, James Simmons and Hans Wulf.
Burial was made in Oakland cemetery.
Among those from out of town were the following: Mrs. Dora Hasen, the aged mother, of Andover, Ia., Mr. and Mrs. Thos. McKenna, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Christiansen and children of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Gurius, Mrs. May Blessing and daughter, Miss Lena Blessing, of Maquoketa, Mr. and Mrs. John Muhl and Theo Muhl of Miles, Ia., Mrs. Caroline Hansen and Claus Bruening of Preston, Iowa, and many friends from Andover and surrounding towns were here to pay their last tribute to the late Hans J. Hansen.
