Mrs. H. H. Center, mother of H. O. Center, 413 Ninth avenue, died Monday morning at 10:30 o'clock at the home of her son.

Mrs. Center was born in Lockport, N.Y., in 1833. Her maiden name was Elizabeth Maker. She came to Iowa in 1870, and lived here for years, later moving to DeWitt. After the death of Mr. Center, his companion made her home with her son, and they returned to Clinton to make their home three years ago. There are no other children.

The funeral will be held this afternoon, and the body will be taken to DeWitt for burial. Dean F. H. Burrell of St. John's church will officiate.
