J. B. Thompson, who has been a resident of Clinton 40 years, died at Agatha hospital Friday night at 8:15 o'clock following an attack of pneumonia.
Mr. Thompson was born in Canada, December 22, 1848. He was preceded in death by his wife, July 19, 1916. One son Lyall of Alton, Ill., is the only member of the family. Mrs. John Cullen of 228 Wesley avenue is Mr. Thompson's niece.
The funeral will be held Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Clarke Undertaking parlors. Interment will be made at Springdale.

J. B. Thompson was laid to rest in Springdale cemetery Monday afternoon. The funeral was in charge of the Rev. G. D. Rogers of the First Baptist church, and was held at the Estabrook chapel at 3 o'clock.
Stone Masons' union and Odd Fellows, of which orders Mr. Thompson was a member, attended in bodies.
Lyle Thompson, of Alton, Ill., a son, is the only surviving relative.
