Toronto, Iowa, Feb. 3 --Miss Lizzie Hamdorf was born in Germany, near Holstein on Jan. 10th, 1876, and died at her home near Toronto on Jan. 16th, 1917, aged 41 years and 6 days. She came to this country when but eight years of age with her parents, who settled near Lost Nation.

She was united in marriage to Nathan Fritcher in 1896. To this union were born five children, all of whom survive her, Ella, Anna, Hattie, Vernie and Eddie. Besides the loving husband and children, she leaves her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Hamdorf, of Massillon, four sisters, Mary Hamdorf, Mrs. Wm. Stenke, Mrs. Ernest Juebrings and Mrs. James Homolka, of Oxford Junction, and two brothers, John Hamdorf, Jr., of Lowden and Fred Hamdorf of Massillon. The funeral services were held Friday with short services at the home conducted by Rev. Warren Turner of Anamosa and at the Massillon church in both English and Germany by Rev. G. Vollmer of Lost Nation. Interment was made in Massillon cemetery. The large concourse of friends and neighbors and the many beautiful floral offerings showed that she was held in high esteem by all.
