page 6Johanna Helena Hansen, 73 years old, died Sunday night at 7 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Ohrt, on Beaver island.
Mrs. Hansen was born in Pelworm, Schleswig Holstein, Germany, March 23, 1844, the daughter of Iver and Johanna Jensen. She was married November 4, 1868, to Jurgen Hansen. They came to America in 1881 and lived for a time at Clinton, later going to Maquoketa and to Elk River, and 16 years ago returning to Clinton.
She is survived by her husband and four children. They are Ever Hansen, Clinton; Mrs. Herman Henningsen, Maquoketa; Mrs. John Gernzen, Clinton; Mrs. John Ohrt, Clinton. Two step-children, Julius Hansen in Germany and Anna Claussen in Canada, 24 grandchildren and five great grandchildren are also left.
The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in charge of the Rev. A. H. Lutz. Burial will be made at Springdale.

The funeral of Mrs. Johanna Hansen was held this afternoon at 1 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Ohrt on Beaver Island, the Rev. A. H. Lutz officiating.
Burial was made at Springdale cemetery, the following acting as pallbearers: Peter Carlson, Eugene DuBois, Martin Henningsen, August Henningsen, Gus Hagberg, John Larson.
Those who attended the services from out of the city are: Mr. and Mrs. Herman Henningson, Maquoketa; Carl Jensen, Maquoketa; Bernhard Jensen, Maquoketa; Mr. and Mrs. Behr, Elk River; Herman Meyers, Elk River.
