Impressive funeral services were held at 2:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon for Mrs. Sarah Wise at her late home, 201 North Sixth street, by Rev. R. C. Keagy, pastor of the First Methodist church of which the deceased was a life long member. Mrs. Fay Wilson and Miss Gladys Shadduck sang two appropriate hymns and interment was made in Oakland cemetery. The pall bearers were P. S. Eaton, Silas Dodge, A. Johnson, M. C. Lollich, Mat Finch and Emil Huenger. Out of town relatives here for the funeral were Wallace Williams, Mt. Carroll, Ill., Mrs. Jennie Hilliard, Independence, Ia., Mrs. Davis, Oregon, Mr. and Mrs. Graul, Dow City and Mrs. Belle D. Wise of Waterloo.

Deceased was 82 years of age and was born in Virginia in April 1834. With her parents she moved to Illinois and in 1858 was united in marriage to the late Peter Wise. In 1861 they removed to Lyons, where she had since resided. Mrs. Wise was a long-time member of the Methodist church and always took an active interest in its work. The survivors are one son, L. J. Wise of Clinton and two daughters, Mrs. Della Wilcox of this city and Mrs. Mary Grawl of Dow City.
