Funeral services for the late Mrs. Mary J. White of this city, who died at the home of her sister, Mrs. George Franks, in Kansas City, Kan., on Monday evening, were conducted from the home of an old friend, Mrs. Mina Anderson, 1109 North Jefferson avenue, Peoria, Ill. on Friday morning at 10 o'clock. The Rev. W. Ernest Stockley, rector of Grace church of Lyons, officiated at the service, after which the remains were interred beside her husband, the late J. H. White, in Springdale cemetery in Peoria.

Mary Jane Stout was born in Perry county, Ohio, Feb. 1, 1846, and was united in marriage to James H. White in 1864. They resided in Peoria, where Mr. White was chief of the fire department until 1892, when they moved to this city. Two brothers, Calvin and Nicholas Stout, of Peoria, and two sisters, Mrs. Julia Franks and Mrs. Helen Franks, of Kansas City, Kan., survive her.

Mrs. White was a devoted member of Grace Episcopal church and for a number of years was manager of Grace Guild. She was also active in other departments of the church work. She was also a member of Lyons chapter, O.E.S., No. 130, and identified with an independent missionary society known as the Willing Workers, which was organized a number of years ago in her home. Always of a bright and cheery disposition, she naturally attracted to herself a host of friends who will mourn her demise.
