Grand Mound, Ia. Nov. 10--The funeral of the late Ole Jacobsen, who died at the home of his daughter southwest of town Monday night after a lingering illness, was held yesterday afternoon, with services at the Norwegian Lutheran church, conducted by Rev. Munson of Norway, Iowa. Interment was made in the Norwegian cemetery under direction of Undertaker J. W. Kelly. The funeral was very largely attended by old friends and neighbors. Deceased was born in Norway, July 10, 1836, coming to Chicago, July 10, 1857, where in 1860 he was united in matrimony to Elsa Anderson. In 1863 they came to Clinton county. On Sept. 22, 1864, he enlisted in the army, belonging to Company I, Eighth Iowa infantry, where he served until the close of the Civil war, during which time he endured hardships almost unbearable to serve his country's cause. So did he ever remain a most honorable, upright citizen and a kind and loving husband and father.

To survive him there are one daughter, Mrs. Gunder Iverson, with whom he lived, and two sisters, Mrs. Joseph L. Johnson of Story City, and Mrs. Dortha Larsen, in Norway, to whom is extended the community's sympathy in their bereavement.
