Lyons, Iowa
Paul Holdorf, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Holdorf, met a tragic death Friday evening about 5 o'clock when he was caught between two freight cars in the west yards of the Chicago & Northwestern Railway company. The accident occurred near the company's ice house, when Mr. Holdorf, who is employed as a car checker, stepped between the two cars which were uncoupled, and the engine backed down on the cars, bumping them together, fatally injuring the checker, who was hurried to Agatha hospital, but died while enroute to that place.

Paul A. Holdorf was born in Clinton, Nov. 5, 1893, and later moved to this city with his parents, where he has resided for some time past at 1309 West Main street. He was a young man very well liked in railroad circles, and by his many friends, who will be grieved to learn of his untimely death and extend their deepest sympathy to the bereaved parents and family.

The deceased is survived by his parents, one brother, Edward, of Washta, Ia., and five sisters at home, Katherine, Mildred, Esther, Josephine and Gladys.

Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon from the home, 1309 Main street, at 2 o'clock and from the Congregational church at 2:30, with Rev. Wm. Hardy Woodfin officiating, and burial will be made in Oakland cemetery. Edward Holdorf will arrive today from Washta to be here for the funeral.
