HEAT IS CAUSE OF DEATH OF E. W. TASHNER
The continued heat of the past few weeks claimed a victim Saturday evening when Ernest W. Tashner succumbed to the effects of the heat and died shortly after being taken ill.

Mr. Tashner had been employed as a butcher at the Barnes Bros. shop for the past four years and had not been ill nor complained of the heat until Saturday evening, when one of the other men in the shop noticed him seemingly weaken and urged him to rest. Mr. Tashner, however, said that he would be all right in a short time and went to the back end of the shop and later into the back yard, where he was found a few minutes later lying face downward. A physician was called and the heat-stricken man given every attention. The ambulance was also called, but Mr. Tashner died enroute to the hospital.

Deceased was born in North Buena Vista, Ia., some 42 years ago and lived with his parents until he grew to manhood after which he learned the butcher trade and went to Dubuque, where he was in business for 12 years before coming to this city.

He is survived by this wife, his father, Christof Tashner, of Buena Vista, one brother, John of Guttenberg, Ia., another brother, Carl, and a sister, Minnie, both at home, also a sister, Mrs. John Lund, of Maybelle, Minn.

The remains will be taken to Buena Vista tonight and the funeral will be held there Tuesday morning.
